ROKU - Software Engineering Internship Program
Who are we?
At Roku, we’re total geeks about movies, TV, and all things streaming – after all, Roku did pioneer streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the global streaming platform that connects users to the content they love, so we’re constantly imagining new ways of creating and consuming content. Come join the Aarhus office in paving the way for Roku’s expansion into Northern Europe! Learn more about our opportunities at www.weareroku.com/students
How do we work?
Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We’re independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV. We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
What do we expect of you?
Enrolled in a relevant engineering education at the time of application
A self-starter attitude and willingness to learn
Good English skills, both oral and written
Good communication and presentation skills
Programming skills in modern C++ / Python
Are we a match?
We are looking for students interested in starting a full time internship from February 2023. This role is for a 20 week internship, based out of our Aarhus, Denmark office. Usually after an internship ends, we hire our interns as student workers and offer them employment once they are done with their education. This of course only happens if there is an interest from both sides to continue the collaboration. All the interns we have had so far are either hired as full-time employees or working as student contractors.
